We believe Frederick’s east side can be a “model community” for the 21st century.
East Frederick Rising is a community group that wants to revitalize the east side of Frederick. We’d like to see the east side developed according to “smart growth” principles. That means a walkable mix of businesses and residences, similar to what the city’s historic district is like now.
We believe that the most distinctive, beloved part of Frederick should serve as the model for developing its east side. And, we believe Frederick’s east side can be the model for what a modern community should be. We’re working to make that happen.
