This is the official introduction of the Vision Plan & Toolkit and your opportunity to review this document, which incorporates comments from past community meetings, and offer feedback to the East Frederick Rising Board of Directors and Design Committee before it is presented to the Planning Commission and Mayor & Board of Aldermen.

Frederick has a new gateway to the heart of the existing downtown and a new chance to envision the future of the City east of East Street.

East Frederick Rising Gets Grants

“April 2, 2010: East Frederick Rising’s future rose further Thursday when the Board of Aldermen agreed to make a $25,000 matching contribution for the redevelopment project.

East Frederick Rising is a community organization whose goal is to develop several hundred acres near the new interchange at I-70 and East Street. The goal is to develop a mix of land uses that promotes ease of travel by transit, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.

The Department of Housing and Community Development is offering a $25,000 technical assistance grant for the project. It requires a local match…”
